These are links to URL’s that belong to some friends of mine. Toss into this mix a number of sites I find compelling and you have a heady list worthy of multiple visits. Tap some of the images as they may contain an Easter Egg.

| For the films featured in this doc, the lights were oftentimes left on. |

The Seventh Daughter - Site of fellow filmmaker and pal, Bret Wood’s latest imagistic foray. As an associate producer of his ’03 documentary, HELLS' HIGHWAY: THE TRUE STORY OF HIGHWAY SAFETY FILMS (http://www.cinemaweb.com/highwaysafety/), I can tell you whatever Bret is monkeying with will be top shelf. Bret’s association with KINO International (link below) has produced some dazzling work.
|
KINO - Bret’s full time job as a producer and designer for Kino’s DVD
releases has spawned a wealth of great titles from rare silents to
hailed foreign and independent films. Don’t miss this site.

| Phil's cool new logo. |
|
|
Flip Film and Design - Pal Phil Hardison’s commercial film production company site. Phil and
I are old friends. No rivalry here. Phil's the best commercial director that I know; his use of wide lenses
and candy colors (Phil's adept at fashion and comedy) define a style perfect for any
advertiser. Check his stuff out!

V-TWIN TV - Old friend Glenn Morgan’s media exploits since leaving as one of the
“old guard” at MTV (where Glenn was an original employee). Joe Teresi and Glenn are steering Paisano Publications into television
programming. Check out V-TWIN TV on THE SPEED CHANNEL. Glenn and I
worked on a drive-in film in the seventies. I’ll post the one sheet for
Incoming Freshmen (’79) in the near future...AND if it can be found...THE TRAILER as an Easter Egg!!

|
Stanford's Cabin Friend and former neighbor Ted Stanford's incredible vacation rental cabin in the Smoky Mountains that faces the highest peak on this side of the Mississippi, Mount LeConte. Has to be seen to be believed... indoor heated pool with a waterfall styled like it was lifted from the Jurassic Park era, plus a sauna, grill, fireplace, hot tub, Jacuzzi, pool table plasmas, and much more!

Greenbriar Picture Shows - - John McElwee’s peerless look at the promotion of the films of yesteryear. It always features a treasure trove of stills and posters.
Monsters From the Vault - A terrific “classic monster” site from Jim Clatterbaugh. Not a
misstep in its thorough appreciation of the golden age of horror. The Video Watchdog - Author, writer, editor, and publisher, Tim Lucas, and his wife Donna,
produce The Video Watchdog, the “perfectionist’s guide to fantastic
video”. Tim’s writing and Donna’s art direction have lifted this
publication into the stratosphere of film appreciation. This blog
features reviews and spontaneous thought (Tim’s brilliance ALWAYS makes
his rambling raucous) not found in “The…Dog”. Their recent book, “Mario
Bava: All the Colors of the Dark”, is a magnificent homage to one of my
favorite directors (and Tim’s labor of love for 32 years!) Tim and
Donna are modern day versions of James Agee (Knoxville homeboy) with
the keys to a supercharged ‘vette and room to race.
Monster Kid - Kerry
Gammill’s affectionate “Forrest J. Ackerman-like” magazine site that
mirrors the halcyon days of monster fandom in a cyber setting.
Forrest J. Ackerman - Did I mention Forrest J. Ackerman? This is a site directly from Forry
himself, the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of fantastic
film fandom.
DVD Drive-In - So you want to find
out about upcoming DVD releases? Simply grab a look at the front page
of this site and you’ll get snapshots of the best in upcoming titles.
Spookshows - Created by Richard Miller, this URL celebrates Halloween year-round
and attracts those of us who favor chilly, foggy evenings and yellow
moons.
Dreamland BBQ - Simply the best BBQ ever
consumed by this southerner. Located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dreamland’s
mouth-watering ribs are now available on-line. As a Tennessee Volunteer it's hard for me to admire anything so near to the University of Alabama, but they are the exception. Alert the media!!
DVD Planet - My favorite site for purchasing today’s digital movie entertainment.
Formerly a left coast company called Ken Crane’s (a Laser Disc only
store), Dvdplanet.com was procured by Image Entertainment and moved
across the plains to Illinois. They’ve expanded to become the best
nationwide DVD discounter.
Jonny Quest - Artist
Doug Wildey’s character creation fostered by Hanna Barbara animation
that resulted in an icon. Every young boy’s adventure fantasies
distilled into one season (’64) of timeless television. Any of JQ’s 26,
twenty-two-minute time capsules reveal numerous modern day conveniences
(laser beams, jet travel, etc.) and pack pulsating plotlines.
